Responsibilities

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national force of conservation volunteers, has an exciting opportunity in our Admissions Department. The Northwest Placement Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Conservation Internship placement process for the Northwest quadrant of the United States and for specific Conservation Corps Projects.

The Coordinator will also recruit at colleges and universities in the Northwest. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, mature self-starter who is comfortable working independently and speaking to large and small groups. This person will work directly with applicants, university contacts, northwest partners and SCA Alumni to ensure that the right candidate is placed in the right position at the right time. This position will be based in SCA's Seattle, Washington, Regional Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with SCA experience required
• Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills
• Ability to speak confidently in public to audiences of various sizes
• Valid driver's license, minimum age of 25 and motor vehicle record that meets SCA standards
• Strong data entry and experience in using Microsoft Office products
• Ability and willingness to spend up to 50% of the time on the road (between 10-15 weeks per year)
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills
• Very strong time management skills and the ability and desire to perform multiple and variable tasks
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to meet SCA's criminal background check standards
• Flexibility and willingness to handle seasonal variations in workload
• 3+ years experience in customer service or within a non-profit environment
