Job DescriptionWorld Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks Senior Program Officer, Fisheries and Marine Policy to develop and implement legislative and regulatory policy initiatives and strategies to achieve WWF's policy goals in the areas of fisheries, marine, and coastal issues. Works closely in/with marine priority places. We are looking for energetic, creative, analytical, independent thinkers and problem solvers experienced at working with Congress and the Administration on conservation programs, policies, appropriations; and domestic and international conservation issues. Ideal candidates will have subject matter expertise in international development, natural resource conservation, climate change, energy, agriculture, fisheries and species conservation. Overall responsibilities include finding policy solutions to difficult challenges in conservation and natural resource management through advocacy; education and outreach; research; and communication. Builds and fosters collaborative partnerships with WWF colleagues and external partners (Congress, federal agencies, environmental groups, industry representatives and academia) to negotiate, develop and explain WWF's position on relevant issues.
